Terms and Conditions

These standard terms and conditions are as follows:

Health and Welfare

Your dog’s health and welfare is paramount to us at Missy and CoCo’s.

Should your dog show sign of fear or stress at any time, we may have to adopt alternative strategies to alleviate this, which may require extra time and incur an extra cost.

We will not force any procedure on your dog, therefore if your dog objects to any part of the groom, that part will not be performed. Price reductions will not be offered for incomplete grooms due to the dog’s behaviour.

Missy and Coco’s will offer help/advice to overcome your dog’s fear to work towards a full groom.

Please keep us informed of any changes to your dog’s health prior to the groom. Please do NOT bring dogs for grooming who are exhibiting signs of ill health, have been recently neutered, or bitches that are in season.

The grooming of elderly dogs is undertaken entirely at the owners’ risk. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that Missy and CoCo’s cannot be held liable for.
In the extremely rare event that an accident may occur, or a medical condition arises, you authorise us to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

Missy and CoCo’s will charge £20 an hour extra, broken down into £5 for every 15 minutes to allow for any extra time taken to complete the groom.

AGGRESSIVE AND POORLY SOCIALISED DOGS

We must be informed prior to your appointment of any previous history of biting or aggression. Muzzles will be used as a last resort, but will be used if necessary. We reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog if we believe it may cause injury to itself or ourselves. If a dog exhibits aggression or behaviour that we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the session will be stopped immediately and the full fee incurred. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act which holds owners liable for bites and Injuries.

I understand that if I know my pet’s behaviour is not the best and they have been aggressive to any persons in the past, I will inform Missy and CoCo’s.

Missy and CoCo’s are happy to groom difficult pets and they will be assessed individually. If the safety of the groomer or my pet is at risk, I understand they reserve the right to refuse or end the groom early. I understand and will pay an extra cost if Missy and CoCo’s wants to try again another day.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours before the appointment time.

A 50% missed groom fee will apply in the following cases: if an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice; if for any of the reasons detailed above a groom cannot take place; or if you do not attend your arranged appointment.

In addition, your next groom will require 50% payment in advance before another appointment can be booked. This is non-refundable in the case of cancellation less than 24 hours before the appointment.

Missy and CoCo’s will also add the 50% grooming fee to anyone who changes or cancels 3 or more consecutive appointments.

Payment and Pricing

All quoted prices are subject to:

The dog’s coat is well maintained and free from matts. The dog is well behaved, shows no aggression and groomed at our recommended periods. The dog is not overweight or oversized for the breed. Any issues outside of this will incur an extra charge of £5 for every £15 minutes.

Whilst we are happy to work with nervous/ timid dogs, these may also incur extra charges due to the extra time and handling skills required.

Payment must be made before or upon collection of the dog. We accept cash, card or BACS.

Time Keeping/Late Pick Up

Our appointment slots are timed to each individual dog, with a period of time to try and prevent any overlap.

The appointment time given is the time we expect to admit you to the pod.

If you are early for your appointment, we may not be in a position to grant you immediate access. Likewise, if you are late we may have to refuse to groom your dog on that occasion. Customers who are 20 minutes late will be deemed to be a ‘no show’ and charged the full appointment fee.

I understand that Missy and CoCo’s groom one pet (or group of pets from the same family) at a time and I must collect my pet at the agreed time. Pet parents that are later than 20 minutes picking up their pooch will be charged a sitting fee of £5 per 15 minutes unless agreed with by Missy and CoCo’s.

Missy and CoCo’s are not boarding kennels and do not have a licence.

Knots/Matts Neglected Coats

I understand that if my pet’s coat is heavily matted or has too many knots they will need to be clipped out as de-matting is a very painful process (imagine combing out a knot in your own hair but having that all over your body). This is not something Missy and CoCo’s are prepared to do and it is also against the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

We are not here to judge and understand that sometimes this happens.

Country Barn Dog Grooming will request your permission to clip any knots beforehand, and this may incur an extra charge.

Missy and CoCo’s will not be responsible for any vets’ bills in the event of hematomas, clipper rash or grazes to the skin causing irritation and my pet to need veterinary attention.

Missy and CoCo’s will charge £20 an hour extra, broken down into £5 for every 15 minutes extra to allow for this.

Bitches in season/Pregnant Pets

I will notify Missy and CoCo’s if I notice or suspect my bitch is in season, within 24 hours of the appointment time.

Missy and CoCo’s reserve the right to rearrange an appointment if it will interfere with the working day (such as having an entire male in next). I understand that if my dog is groomed whilst in season, she may be more irritable and the results achieved may not be to the normal standard, full cost as usual applies.

I understand that if I know or suspect my pet is pregnant, I will cancel within 24 hours of the appointment. Missy and CoCo’s do not groom pregnant pets and reserves the right to refuse a groom and implement the cancellation policy.

Fleas

I understand that if my pet is found to have fleas there will be an extra charge on top of the groom, to cover the cost of flea shampoo and cleaning of the salon. Missy and CoCo’s reserves the right to refuse a groom or send a pet home early in the event of fleas being found, and the cancellation policy will be implemented.

Please note that dogs with fleas cannot be accepted. If your dog has fleas, please treat them prior to visiting the salon. Should your dog be brought to us with infestation which is discovered after the groom has started a flea surcharge of £20 will apply and your dog will be sent home.

We fully understand that this cannot always be helped, due to the weather etc…
The charge is for a deep cleaning and a flea bomb, and for any cancellations of any pets on that day. Once treatment has happened your pet will be allowed to come back into the cabin after 4 days.
The last thing we want is for you pet to come to us and go home with fleas!!

Photography

I am happy for Missy and CoCo’s to take “before” and “after” photos of every pet. I understand that if any are to be used on social media I will be informed and given the opportunity to refuse. Missy and CoCo’s will refuse to groom if “before” and “after” photos are not permitted to be taken and the cancellation policy will be implemented. The photos are for reference if any complaints arise.

Terms and Conditions will need to be signed and agreed upon by the client on their first visit to Missy and CoCo’s. If you have any issues with these terms and conditions, then please discuss with either Lauren or Michelle before your appointment commences.

Teeth cleaning

Missy and CoCo’s cannot be held responsible for any underlying issues or problems that may be discovered either before, during or after treatments. They can only be undertaken on dogs with good health and temperament.

Missy and CoCo’s cannot guarantee any treatments’ effectiveness particularly if the frequency and / or home maintenance is not followed or there are other underlying factors.

Missy and CoCo’s reserves the right to refuse any services.

The most common dental problems are plaque and tartar build up, Gingivitis, a tooth root abscess or cracked and broken teeth. Dental disease can be influenced by age, breed, diet and retention of baby teeth. If your dog’s teeth are showing a significant amount of tartar build up, or are in poor condition, we will always recommend that you seek veterinary advice.

We are not medically trained so cannot diagnose any problems with your dog’s mouth.

Removal of even mild tartar can reveal conditions that could not be seen prior to its removal. If this occurs, it is the responsibility of the owner to seek veterinary attention.
